On April 26th and 27th, from 9am to 7pm both days, we will have our Impact based hackathon, just like the Impactathon last year, where students come solve problems based on making a real world difference in tech, not just showing off their computer science and business skills, but also their advocacy and social impact skills!
All participants this year will be provided 3 meals a day, walk away with insights from our panels of speakers, our incredible keynote speaker, Melissa Hutchins, who fights deepfakes with enough influence to get a bill passed in Washington D.C., and also swag. Plus, there will be an interview workshop, where there will be help with resumes and all attendees can walk away with interview clothes!
Winning teams will win prizes and money! All of these perks are thanks to our fantastic sponsors. Make sure you sign up, even if you are not 100% a Computer Science major, because we have had students in the past on winning teams who were in biology, art students, business students, mechanical engineering, and more, besides merely CS. If you are from another college, no problem :). We invite anyone to compete who is a junior engineer level or lower.
So come have fun with us all weekend at North Seattle College in the Grove! It is going to be a weekend of mixing folks who work with social justice and tech industry folks. The theme this year is "Know Your Identity, Know Your Rights!" :)
