On Thursday, the 5th of December, we hosted a small public speaking workshop. This smaller event was not part of the Impact Series, but important still, since advocating for those who cannot speak for themselves means being able to stand up and speak up.
The speaker for the event was Omar Fadiel, and he presented methods for public speaking he has learned as an active member of Toastmasters International. Examples for different types of engagement with public speaking were given, such as how to deal with a speech differently than trying to convince or give hard news. The feedback was positive from those who attended, and hopefully our impact will only continue to grow in the next school quarter!
